Our September 23rd dinner is approaching, actually it will be wine and a buffet. There is so much to say about this meeting that the invitation will not fit into a traditional evite format.
Our Topic is 3D printing. We are going to learn about it, visit a 3D printing lab, and learn what our daughters and granddaughters are doing with 3D printers. (We know you think our daughters and granddaughters know more about social media than you, but 3D printing! Wait until it shows up on a gift wish list.)
We are meeting from 6 to 8 PM. We will begin at 6 PM at the Georgia Tech ATDC Lab, 3rd Floor, Hodges Room, Tech Square, 75 Fifth Street.
Shane Matthews, Advisor, Advanced Manufacturing is the head of the 3D lab. Shane is a successful inventor or co-inventor on more than a dozen patents with many other pending. He is a passionate supporter of entrepreneurship, the maker community and a mentor to many Atlanta-based inventors. He will tell us about the lab and the programs at Georgia Tech.
Ayanna “Yanni” Hill-Gill, Head of Atlanta Girls’ School, Melinda Burke-Budhram, Director of Instructional Technology, a student from Atlanta Girls' School will talk about what Atlanta Girls' School has learned from using 3-D printing in our curriculum and how we plan to integrate it into our STEAM program.
